You did it! You’re booked in for your session! Now you might be thinking, what did I get myself into? There’s a lot that goes into a portrait experience and it can seem overwhelming.

Here’s a guide to help you when prepping for your shoot - Leave the rest up to us!

DAY OF YOUR SESSION

If Make-up is part of your session, please arrive with a clean face and dry hair. Doing a light exfoliation on your face is always helpful, even with a washcloth. Use clear deodorant & moisturize your body before your session. A good night’s sleep will ensure you are refreshed for your day.

HAIR CUT & COLORING

Cut and color your hair two weeks prior to your session, this will give your hair time to normalize. Chat with our team before making any drastic changes. Trim eyebrows and facial hair a day or two before your session.

NAIL CARE

If you normally do your nails, get a manicure and pedicure before your session (or DIY at home). Your hands and feet will show in many of your images and we don’t want chipped polish!

Stick to nude and muted tones or a French nail, this keeps your nails nice but not distracting.

SPRAY TANS & TANLINES

For your session, we do not recommend a self or spray tan if you have never had one done before. If you have, a week or two before the session is always best.

We also recommend staying out of the sun up to a week before your session to avoid any burns. Any existing tan lines you may have will be cleaned up digitally.

APPOINTMENTS & RESCHEDULING

Please arrive on time for your appointment; if you arrive early, we may still be with another client. Late arrival will be deducted from your session time (for in-studio sessions).

The Retainer for your session is non-refundable and there is a $100 rescheduling fee; please allow a minimum notice of 3 days for rescheduling.
